(CA) today marked the first anniversary of its ca smart solution certification program by showcasing customers and partners who have experienced tangible benefits from the program's diverse solutions. These solutions have enabled customers to combine best-in-class technologies from CA and its partners to quickly and effectively address their most critical information technology challenges.ca smart certification is earned by partners who deliver business value and technical excellence through the integration of their products with CA technologies. The program promotes close collaboration between CA and its partners, ensuring that certified solutions meet the highest standards of engineering quality and deliver tangible business benefits.

Solutions featured within the ca smart solution certification program benefit customers from a wide range of vertical markets and represent CA's key IT focus areas.

Enterprise Management

Party City, one of the world's largest party supply retailers, is utilizing G&Z Systems' ca smart certified PollView in conjunction with CA's Unicenter to radically simplify the management of its geographically distributed IT infrastructure.

Security Management

LA Fireman's Credit Union, a full-service financial institution committed to providing for the financial security of its members/owners, is deploying SAFLINK's SAFaccess to add biometric capabilities to CA's eTrust Single Sign-On.

"In enhancing our ability to securely administer access to business-critical systems, we needed a solution which combined the utmost in flexibility, convenience and protection," said George King, vice president, IS, LA Fireman's Credit Union. Storage Management

The University of New Mexico leverages both the hierarchical storage management capabilities of CaminoSoft's Managed Server solution and the extensive functionality of CA's BrightStor ARCserve Backup to optimize the performance and resource-efficiency of its data protection strategy.

The Dutch Tax and Customs Administration is utilizing LibRT's VALENS, a ca smart certified add-on for CA's CleverPath Aion Business Rules Expert, to automatically verify the consistency, completeness and non-redundancy of formal models of legislation.

Application Life Cycle Management
The U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command (MSC) has deployed the ca smart certified Meta Integration Model Bridge (MIMB) to help development teams more efficiently share data models, including those created by CA's AllFusion ERwin Data Modeler, further streamlining the technical integration of its mission-critical systems.

"Capitalizing on the Department of Defense standard data models developed and published by CA's AllFusion ERwin Data Modeler and shared by Meta Integration's MIMB, the MSC is able to more efficiently reuse critical standard data elements in support of enterprise-wide systems integration," said Gordon Spicer, Director of the Technical Integration Division at MSC. "The meta data sharing and reuse capabilities of these solutions, as deployed by Dyad Sodality, Inc., are especially important in achieving higher levels of systems consistency, quality, and manageability."

Data Management and Application Development

Missouri River Energy Services, a large utility company serving the Midwest U.S., implemented the ca smart certified ProphecyOpen, which CA's partner Prophecy built on CA's Advantage Ingres Enterprise Relational Database.
